How to Copy and Paste Emojis
Copying an emoji is quick once you know where to find them. On this site you tap or click an emoji and it is copied instantly, but you can also use the tools built into your phone and computer. Here is how to copy and paste emojis reliably on any device, and what to do when they do not show up the way you expect.
On this website
- Open the emoji page and search for a word like “happy” or “fire”.
- Tap or click the emoji to copy it — a short “Copied” message confirms.
- Paste it into your app with Ctrl+V, Cmd+V, or long-press → Paste.
On a phone
Both iPhone and Android include an emoji keyboard. Tap the smiley or globe icon on the on-screen keyboard to switch to emojis, then tap one to insert it directly.
To copy from a website instead, long-press the emoji or use our copy button, then long-press the text field where you want it and choose Paste.
On a computer
On Windows press the Windows key + period (.) to open the emoji picker. On Mac press Control + Command + Space. You can also copy any emoji from this site and paste it with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V.
If an emoji looks wrong
If you see a box or a different picture, the emoji may be too new for the device showing it, or it may simply use that platform’s own artwork. Updating your operating system usually adds support for newer emojis.
